What is the best dish for roasting potatoes? I have a new roasting pan but the Teflon is coming off already!!

Help me find the Holy grail of roasting pans please!!

I've tried all sorts over the years, but have settled on cheap & cheerful Pyrex.
Bonus - goes in the dishwasher.

I use the Scoville Neverstick range for everything now, it’s so long lasting.

Allegedly ! I had a frying pan that lasted under a year.

Prestige all the way!

Or failing that just use the air fryer

I like procook and stainless steel but you have to be prepared to dry thoroughly straight after washing.

Ilovemyshed · 27/08/2026 14:01

Ikea stainless steel

I do like an enamel roasting tin.

SerendipityCat · 27/08/2026 14:36

Another vote for the old-fashioned enamel. Dunelm do a pretty good range at a reasonable price.

Hohofortherobbers · 27/08/2026 15:00

I like my falcon dish, enamel coated metal

rightoguvnor · 27/08/2026 15:42

I decided long ago (I think during covid) that roasting tins were best replaced every couple of months, they just don’t last like they used to, so I bought some cheap stainless steel ones from Amazon. They’re still going strong! OK, a couple are getting to the ‘extreme seasoned’ stage but I am amazed.

How ate you washing it @Nonna67 ?
I just wash mine in the sink and use a cloth only. I put baking parchment on the pan every time I use it as well.
I use a sheet pan, with1" sides for everything.
roast potatoes at 425f.

Sorry, I meant are you using a cloth or a scrubbing pad?
I always put parchment paper in my pans as well.

Hot soapy water and cloth or brush. The pan has only been used 4 times!
Do you spuds stick to the parchment?

After trying everything else I have stuck with enamel roasting tins. They only need a soak and then into the dishwasher. Any special coatings, Teflon etc just peel off and poison you.

No, not if you get the oil hot enough.

Very little to not at all.
I only use a soapy cloth to clean the pans, btw.
I toss the veg/potatoes in extra virgin olive oil, season with s&p, maybe some garlic powder and lay out on the parchment lined pan. Roast at 425f. Turn them as they brown on each side.
