Stockists of larger quantities of basics. Herbs/spices/flour etc

Hello. Hoping some of you can point me in the right direction re stockists of larger quantities of pantry staples? Any online recommendations?

i can pick up large bags of rice from our local farmfoods but after that I’m a bit stumped.

How large are you wanting?

For large bags of spices I use the local Indian grocer. I ordered 16kg bags of flour online during Covid but not sure if that was a Covid thing.

I buy my bread flour from Ratton Pantry in 16kg bags. They’re online and on ebay. However they were out of stock last time - have a browse as there are several other suppliers still around.

Depends on what you are after. I buy some bulk stuff from Real Food Source which does large bags of many staples. Herbs and spices I buy in larger quantities from Steenbergs and then Chinese supermarkets for Asian spices.
All good quality but none of it cheap

Costco.

Smaller supermarkets specialising in Asian groceries.

Some larger mainstream supermarkets, especially Tesco, you can buy spices by the kilo in the world foods aisle, although 100 g packets are more than enough for most people to use up while still fresh. You can also get frozen prepared garlic and ginger.

I'd be surprised if buying online was cheaper as delivery is disproportionately costly and online suppliers are often more expensive than supermarkets.

Do you have an Asian or Chinese supermarkets locally? That's where I get my spices

Thank you all. We have an Asian supermarket an hour or so from us and a Costco in the same area so will check those out.

As previous posters, Asian and Chinese supermarkets for spices, herbs and pulses, or order from Natco direct if you need a lot. Rice and flour, unless you're using industrial quantities is usually cheaper in normal supermarkets. You do need to consider how long a large pack will take to be used, I recently saw a 2kg bag of dried chillies, that would last me 10 years+.

Depends on area but Asda has a world food aisle in some stores with sacks of rice, big packs of spices.
