fusili pasta - boil a whole bunch and put a bit on each plate,
open a whole bunch of cans of corn - put some corn next to the pasta
put any kind of cheese, chopped veg next to that....

Make popcorn yourself at home, flavour with salt or with a toffee style coating (warm margarine and sugar or golden syrup in a pan, stir in the popcorn). The kids love it and it costs hardly anything.

At a recent party, I set up an "Ice Cream Bar". I had a separate little table with cheap cones, cheap ice cream, some sprinkles, and little flakes. It was a big hit.

I also made a big punch, from a few own brand soft drinks, loads of ice and some sliced oranges. I gave them a soup ladle and paper cups and they really enjoyed it.

Cheap, but fun.
