In a group of lovely neighbours, who take it in turn to host ‘drinks and nibbles’ every few weeks. It’s not intended to be a proper meal - people usually have something light before they come.
We’ve fallen into a habit of serving a couple of dips, shop bought or home made, cheese and crackers, crisps. Maybe a fruit platter or a cake.
It’s all lovely, and the most important thing is that we have the social time together However I’d like to change it up a bit (there are only so many varieties of cheese, dips and dippers). At the same time I don’t want to appear pretentious or competitive. So talking one or two small changes that can sit alongside the regular dishes. The last host felt the same and made vegetarian sausage rolls which went down really well.
My turn to host tomorrow and just doing my shopping list. Any ideas gratefully received.
Tow vegetarian guests (who eats all cheeses) so would like to make all things vegetarian only .
Thank you
