Anyone have favourite iced coffee recipes for hot summer days?

Does anyone else love iced coffee?

I'm obsessed with it during these hot days!

The cold coffee concentrate seems to work faster than regular hot coffee, as far as a pick-me-up, and I like to add sugar free flavour drops (vanilla or toffee) and skimmed milk.

Does anyone have any iced coffee recipes?

I make a lovely vanilla flavouring: seeds from vanilla pods mixed with maple syrup. It keeps in the fridge for a few days. Avoids UPFs.

@MiddleAgedButterfly that sounds delicious!!!!

I have been using MyProtein drops which have these ingredients only: Ingredients:Water, Sweetener(Sucralose) Natural Flavouring

However, I love making everything from scratch so appreciate that recipe!

I love iced coffee latte and am finding it works better with super concentrated instant coffee poured over ice and milk. It wasn’t as nice when I made it with my usual espresso made in a mokapot and cooled.
I don’t like sweet iced coffee but Sainsburys have some of the sweet iced coffee concentrates on sale, I think they are frozen cubes.

I keep it simple. I buy the Origin cold brew pouches (which keep in the fridge for three weeks). Stick ice in a glass, measure 40ml of coffee (a double shot) and add oat milk as I please. A creamy decently strengthened iced coffee. Yum!

@hirsuteonHRT oh! I haven't tried a mokapot! I am using unsweetened concentrate from TrueStart. It's gorgeous! I've never had frozen cubes!

When I make a pot of filter coffee I'll often make a bit extra and freeze it in an ice cube tray. Then when I want ice coffee I can blitz a few cubes with milk of choice. Comes out more like a frappe. Sometimes add a splash of maple syrup but mostly have it as is. I like the idea of the vanilla pods, thanks @MiddleAgedButterfly

Recently had some cream left over from a recipe so also froze that. Made a delicious ice coffee! Same with sometimes in summer I'd add a scoop of vanilla ice cream into the blender. Wouldn't do either too often but it's nice for a treat.

Works wonderfully for espresso martinis too!

I don’t have anything fancy sadly but my ratio is now two tsps of instant Nescafé azera intense, one of sugar, one tablespoon of hot water, one tablespoon of cold, mix.

Poured over lots of ice and about 200ml of milk

Thanks so much for the recipes! I think simple is better, a lot of the time, especially when compared to the over engineered and over sweet (IMO) iced coffees at Costa, Starbucks etc.

A little place near me had a special of a Mazagran. It is cold coffee with lemon and sweetener. It sounded bizarre but it was a hot day and I was in just the right mood to try something different. It was amazing. It’s from Algeria.
I went back multiple times while they had it on offer.

I haven’t made one at home yet but I’m going to try soon.

Now, this would be an interesting combination! Thanks for sharing! I will go online and see if there are similar recipes to incorporate lemon! It sounds bizarre but also refreshing!

We have an espresso machine so I just fill a pint glass half up with ice cubes, and dispense a large shot of espresso straight into it. The large amount of ice cools the espresso straight away. Then top up with milk. Kids sometimes add some of those syrups but I don’t bother.

I used to do more cafetière coffee so I’d make a pot, wait for it to cool, then blend it with vanilla icecream and milk to make a more frothy drink, but the simpler strong espresso, ice cubes and milk works well and is really nice, easy and refreshing.
