Probably not the most exciting thread but we do eat a lot of jelly; i find it cheap and not too high in calories. Thing is I make milk jelly or sometimes made with cream its lovely! i have made it with lemonade, done a multi coloured layered jelly that was for a birthday party and it was so well received.
has anyone had any other simple ideas for using jelly?

Lemonade jelly is such a brilliant idea - thank you. My FIL is very unwell, end stage cancer and I think lemonade jelly might be just the thing for him across the heatwave. Do you use the gelatine leaves to make it?

Not cheap but raspberrry jelly with lots and lots of fresh raspberries in is delicious.

Not sure if you use the powder or cubes, but you can coat grapes with jelly powder and freeze. Makes a nice snack.

Also whizz up jelly mix and yogurt in a blender and set for a mousse/blancmange type dessert

Make a giant homemade jaffa cake

Make up half the packet, let it set, then make the second half with the minimium water required to make it dissolve (a couple of tablespoons) and nake the rest if the liquid up with the juice from tinned fruit, and stir in the rest of the tinned fruit. Pour ontop of set layer.

Make up with fruit juice as the bulk of the liquid

DD did this for my birthday last year.

I use cordials to make fruit jelly and add raspberries/ blueberries/ strawberries to it. Mixture of raspberries and blueberries is the most popular here.
added: I use gelatine leaves

Make up the jelly with half the usual amount of water and put it in a shallow dish to start setting. Whisk up a tin of evaporated milk and slowly add the jelly while still whisking. It should pretty much double in volume. Put into a serving dish and leave in the fridge to set. It's a kind of fruity mousse.

people seem to enjoy same things as me then! its so easy to add milk or cream to make a really tasty jelly. it is still quite a low priced desert and so nice even just made up plain.
I do find it hard to find other flavours in normal supermarkets strawberry or raspberry esp in crystals but occasionally in tablets black currant or orange. Lime seems to have gone black cherry i found once but it would be good to stock up with nice flavours!

Can you do a savory jelly?
Chunky chopped ham with loads of chopped parsley in aspic, sliced with green salad.
Salmon, dill and asparagus terrine with new, minted, potatoes.
If you can get it, quark whipped with a mixture of herbs and chopped hard-boiled eggs, set with aspic folded in (use individual moulds) with a tomato and spring onion salad.
