not sure if this is the right place but I am looking for a double saucepan. My mum had one and they were fab for making sauces, melting items etc. i think some call them bain marie saucepans or porridgers.
I have looked on Amazon and eBay but cheapest new one is over £30 which is a bit more than I can afford
in case if not sure there is a saucepan you put water to boil in then a pan fits on top to make the sauce etc in

Do you have a regular pyrex or any other bowl that sits in one of your saucepans? Put a bigger saucepan lid over the top of the bowl and viola! That's how I've always done it.

Yep, pyrex bowl and pan here too.

A stainless steel bowl over a pot. Don’t let the water touch the pot - steam only.

I use a collapsible food steamer in a big shallow pan with a thin layer of boiling water to create the steam. Place a stainless steel balti dish or saucepan on top. I can use the lid of the big pan to cover the whole thing if needed.
