Baking cookbook for a 12yo

What's a good baking book for a 12yo who wants to make simple things such as biscuits and traybakes?

I like Mary Berry's 100 Sweet Treats and Puds, but he wants something more specific.

I really rate James Martin, maybe his desserts book. He is a pastry chef by training and his basic recipes are really clear. Take a look around for Gary Rhodes Sweet Dreams also.

Then there is a Delia book called “Baking”.

I just think the good solid chefs, with well written recipes, are the best.

If he is looking for very specific, then the high end one is Larousse Patisserie and Baking.

Oh and Jane’s Patisserie !

Oh and Jane’s Patisserie !

Her Easy Favourites looks like what DS is after. Thank you.

We've got Delia's How to Cook, but apparently that's too complicated.

This interest in baking is because he's a hungry 12yo who has realised he can make his own treats, not because he wants to do anything fancy.

Ah, in that case, take a look at Buddy Oliver’s book Let’s Cook
