Making bagels

Anyone make them? We go through quite a number in this house in a week so I was thinking about having a bash. I'm quite a competent baker but I've never made bagels before. Is it easy enough?

OMG yes, super easy. I don’t even use a recipe/weigh anything anymore - the boiling makes any dough forgiving!

I’d just say - don’t skip the boiling stage, and buy Everything seasoning from M&S to sprinkle liberally on top after boiling/before baking. Even better if you can get the original Trader Joes stuff from the US, but my commitment and comparison skills may go a little too far with this….

If you didn't boil them wouldn't they just be doughnut shaped bread rolls? 😁

I'll look for the seasoning next time I'm near M&S. Thanks!

I used to make them when we lived abroad and couldn't buy them. Easy to make and always worked out well.

I love making bagels! They always work-which is a bonus.
