Can anyone recommend a very large roasting tin for potatoes?

I need to replace my tin for roasting potatoes. Currently it is 40cm x 30cm on the internal base (rectangle) and I need that whole surface area to cook the quantity I want. I have a metal pyrex that they dont seem to make any more Cant seem to find anything. Ideally under £30 and that roasts well.

Grill trays (without the wire rack) seem to be the only thing that size as they fill the whole width of the oven rather than sitting on a shelf. Does anyone use a grill tray? Do they roast well? or any other suggestions? Thank you

I have this one. I’ve had it nearly twenty years, use it all the time and it still looks as good as new.

I use a grill tray. It's great.

We use the deep grill tray for a lot of things including roast potatoes, just take the wire rack out. It came with the oven and fits into the same side grooves as the shelves so it is massive.

I have this one too - I have had it about ten years (and the smaller sized version about fifteen years!). Still excellent and used several times a week.

Thank you for these ideas. All the full size grill pans I can see for sale now dont have a flat base and I want it to be flat

I use my grill tray if I need the space and that’s quite fine. Oven temp and potato type are the key factors

The IKEA KONCIS Roasting tin with grill rack, stainless steel, 40x32 cm is a cheaper option. I use it over and over and it washes up fabulously

Ilovemyshed · 14/06/2026 09:34

Ikea Koncis

girlygirly · 14/06/2026 09:49

Mine is from ikea. It’s called Koncis.

coffeeagogo · 14/06/2026 09:58

Another one for the IKEA Konica. I also have the slightly smaller one too. They are like new despite constant use

I have 2 of those you describe and just use both side by side. aldo has the advantage to vary a recipe slightly if you need to. (more or less cheese, olives, feta... those things not everyone likes)

the size means they are suitable for the dishwasher, which is a must in my opinion.

beigetriangle · 14/06/2026 10:37

What do you mean with flat bottoms?
most grill pans have a sort of ridge all arounf that stops them warping.

think I got mine from robert dyas, but have seen them anywhere that sells kitchen stuff.
I think they came with a grill thingy, but never use that tbh.

I have Ninja ZeroStick , flat trays , square tins and a deep roasting tin.
Brilliant non stick , wash well and non warping .

ThreeStripeQueen · 14/06/2026 10:47

I use the grill pan, it works perfectly.

Hohofortherobbers · 14/06/2026 11:28

I was coming on to say this. Lots of different sizes too.
The small one is perfect for a 2 person toad in the hole!!

I think I'd use the grill tray that came with the oven. Otherwise, maybe pay a visit to TK Maxx or Homesense with the measurements. They get all sorts of random cookware in there. Either that, or do a search on ebay for catering oven trays.

roastpotatotray · 14/06/2026 22:05

Thanks the grill tray that came with the oven is too old to use (30 year old oven that I still love). The replacement grill trays are not flat bottomed and I have always used flat bottomed for roast potatoes. Ikea looks good and probably not much smaller internal measurements than mine which is 46 x 36 external but 40 x 30 internal useable. Thank you I will give it a try
