‘Lunchbox’ for a night nurse

Hi- looking for help to make a present for a friend of mine who works intense nights, so keeps funny hours and doesn’t know whether or not she’s hungry until she’s famished. I would like ideas for long-life, healthy but luxurious, food items that could stay in a nice box in her car. It won’t be a cool box. She also doesn’t like nuts. TYIA!

What a lovely thing to do! How about cereal bars (some are healthier than others!), dried fruit, flapjacks, popcorn, breadsticks, oatcakes?

I used to take a plate of snacks to bed with me when breastfeeding: dried fruit, especially medjool dates, dark chocolate, nuts (but fine she doesn’t like nuts and probably shouldn’t eat them anyway while working due to allergies), nice biscuits or brownie bites, fresh fruit, protein balls (think like the deliciously ella ones or similar, some of these may contain nuts or nut butters but maybe look in free from section). I personally like boiled eggs but obviously you can’t give her boiled eggs, but maybe a bento box to put fresh food, veg sticks in.

Popcorn is a good idea, the mini bags as it does go stale once open. Also the Ella’s kitchen bars aren’t too unhealthy. Oatcakes are well are good. And drinks wise, some of the cold coffees you can buy don’t actually need to refrigerated.

great idea!!

Posh oatcakes. Seaweed thins and those fancy broth sachets. Popcorn in different flavours. Chocolate rice cakes. Those little cups of chopped fruit in juice. Dried apple / mango / pineapple etc.

You can buy individual snack-sized pouches of olives that don’t need to be refrigerated.
I know you said lunchbox, but how about some cans of natural energy drinks? There are several brands that make these such as Tenzing and Purdey’s.
