Would your pre-school child like icing made with sour cream??

I have just made dd2's birthday cake. She wanted a chocolate one so I did Nigella's chocolate icing that is butter, sugar, vanilla, golden syrup and sour cream. I think it is delicious, and it looks fantastic, just like the picture!
Anyway, we send cakes in to the preschool on their birthdays and I wanted to make some fairy cakes tomorrow and use the left over icing on them. Do you think it will be a funny taste for the children? Should I stick to butter cream?
If it is a step too far can I freeze the leftovers?
I hate waste....
What do you think? TIA

What a waste of a post. Thank you for your common sense when mine was quite obviously eluding me ....Will make a decision tomorrow after big cake cutting....

It is yummy as not too sweet. I am pretty sure it will work even better with the chocolate cake too (only tasted the icing so far).
I will see tomorrow...Just worried now I have made it that it is a bit grown up for the little ones...Oh well, all the more for me and dh.
