Looking for suggestions for an easy starter and dessert to go with a tagine and couscous main course. Thanks!

Morrocan style houmous and pitta crisps.
Dessert of something like lemon or mango syllabub.

Love tagine. 😋

Halloumi and honey

Baba ganoush with pitta could prepped in advance. Maybe some poached pears for dessert could also be prepared ahead of time and just warmed for the meal.

Not necessarily all Moroccan, but I’d do something along these lines:

Starter - flatbread/ veggies (carrots, cucumber, celery) with dips (hummus, labneh, whipped feta, roast aubergine and red pepper)

Desert - baklava, orange, pistachio or almond cake, some sort of eton mess or pavlova with pomegranate or rose water

Easiest dessert and v Moroccan - peel lots of oranges with a sharp knife to remove all the skin and pith. Thinly slice, arrange on a large plate and sprinkle with a cinnamon sugar mix.

I often suggest lemon posset. It's not Moroccan, but I think the citrus would be nice and fresh. Plus they are easy and you can make ahead.

I just saw that someone above suggested almond or pistachio cake. There is a superb River Cafe recipe for a pistachio and lemon cake.
