Need a good ‘holds together’ flapjack recipe - ideally traybake style

I’ve offered to make some flapjacks for a scout fundraising event and would love a good foolproof recipe. I need to make a good number so traybake style that just gets sliced in the tray would be ideal. I bought some dairy free spread so attempt a (separate) dairy free version too. I have oats, butter, golden syrup, various sugars and a generally well stocked kitchen. Thanks in advance!

You need condensed milk flapjack. It really is amazing- I knew that I’d really cracked flapjack when I made it for an event and the WI ladies sought me out to get the recipe.
I think you can get condensed coconut milk for the dairy free, but I haven’t tried it

I make this one all the time it’s foolproof. Can substitute some of the oats for seeds or nuts to increase the nutritional value, and it works just fine without the chocolate on top too

You'll need to use a dairy free block margarine not spread.

SoupDragon's flapjack recipe has always been highly praised on here:

Dh uses this one: https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/flapjacks_86993

He's lactose intolerant so uses the Flora plant butter (the block one in paper), works just as well as regular butter.

I used this one - I will definitely try SoupDragons recipe some time but I did not have condensed milk in stock.

The above worked great, super easy to scale up. I made some with raisins and some without and I made the dairy-free ones (I’m sure a dairy free block would have been better but it was much more expensive and I was donating these so wanted good value!) the df ones worked out great anyway. They’re being sold today so we shall see.
