Recipe for bean burgers that don't fall apart

Would love to make my own bean burgers but the recipes I have tried just tend to result in the patty falling apart when I am frying it at the end. Does anyone have a tried and tested recipe for bean burgers that hold together?

I make mine differently every time, but I find an egg can help to bind it all together, especially if you use breadcrumbs.

I’ve made the Serious Eats ones before and they held together fine both frying and on the barbecue. They’re really delicious too

Chickpea, Pea & Lemon Zest Burger
INGREDIENTS: Chickpeas (29%) (Water, Chickpea).
Courgette, Rapeseed Oil, Onion, Cannellini Beans, Green Lentils (Water, Green Lentils), Spinach (5.7%), Cauliflower, Peas (5.7%), Potato Flake, Gram Flour, Cooked Rice, Parsley, Basil, Garlic Puree (Water, Garlic Granules), Sunflower Seeds, Lemon Juice Concentrate, Lemon Zest (1.1%), Green Chilli, Salt, Ground Black Pepper

I had these today from All Plants and they had a great texture, maybe the courgette helps. I might try to make some

As PP a bit of egg in the mix and a couple of teaspoons of flour (not gluten free) mixed in, press them down as much as possible when forming the patties. Some xanthan gum might help f you've got it, but I've never tried. Make them the day before and put them in the fridge overnight. They'll still be fragile as they don't have the additives that commercial ones use. I tend to cook them on a greased tray in the oven rather than frying..

Flour and egg as pp have mentioned, but one of the key things I find is not faffing with them too much in the pan. Use a good non stick pan and don’t flip them until you’ve got a good crust

I wish I had the answer to this- all attempts this end lead to collapsing burger splats…
