DH is (hopefully) having knee surgery tomorrow and the plan is for him to come home the same day.

What's a good food for him to have the first day or so?

Whatever he usually likes?

Protein for healing. Fibre for bowels affected opiate pain relief. Something light and easy, like scrambled eggs with buttered wholegrain toast, or a cheese sandwich on nice bread?

Fibre is a good point. He'll have morphine for a few nights.

A tagine with prunes ! I make this when I need my opiate meds.

He’ll probably want smaller, more frequent meals rather than large ones. Stick with things that are light and dry like toast or crackers. Nothing too fatty. Perhaps chickpea and roast veg couscous, or a pasta and chicken salad.
