What’s in your Ocado food shop? Recommended items?

I shop each week with Ocado, mainly because life’s hectic and I can’t cope with supermarkets (though I do pop to Lidl once a week). We are a household of 3 adults, me and 2 adult DD’s, eldest DD has a restricted diet due to sensory issues, other DD likes trying new things and I eat almost anything. I often end up buying the same things from Ocado each week and it’s getting really boring, I need new meal ideas for me and dd2. I know Ocado sticks some M&S items but not the full range. Can anyone recommend anything for dd and I to try for meals? What are your must haves from Ocado?

Itsu stuff for the freezer

I'm interested in the replies.
I have all major supermarkets near me (apart from Waitrose, sob), so I'd love to know what Ocado have that is not stocked elsewhere.

It’s price matched so if it’s not cheaper you get a voucher
the m & s ready meals are excellent
but Ocado own brand is good - their mature cheddar blocks are tasty and good value, tzatziki and the M&S flatbreads are delish

Tzatziki and flat breads are my weekly staple (they are pretty good). They also do 3% fat mince beef which makes amazing low-fat burgers or meatballs.

The new M&S soft cheese for bagels is really nice. I always look at the new & trending for ideas. We had the M&S Detroit pizza this week was really nice.

You can get them in a few places but the Spice Tailor and Gymkhana curry kits are very good. Just add your cooked protein (we add spinach and egg, paneer, chicken). Doesn’t take long to cook so a good midweek dinner.

They sell Quorn veggie fishfingers, which is a big plus for me.

M and S Chocolate Swiss Roll - the one with fresh cream. Delicious.

M&S Raspberry Royale individual desserts are yummy.

BridgetJonesV2 · 28/04/2026 20:09

M & S coronation coleslaw - very addictive
Ocado tasty mature cheddar
M & S Santini tomatoes
Gyozas for the freezer (think they're Itsu?)
M & S ribeye steak
Garofalo pasta - takes ages to cook but it's well worth it
M & S plant kitchen vegan "nduja" paste - makes so many good sauce bases

Reader19 · 28/04/2026 20:09

Things I love from Ocado that I can't get very easily elsewhere are the Picard frozen range, Wasa crispbread, Annas ginger thins, conchiglioni pasta (for pasta bakes - I search for Italian recipes for 'conchiglioni ripieni' and adapt). They also have a good selection of cheeses.

Lewiscapaldiscat · 28/04/2026 20:23

butternilk chicken, bake at home ciabatta Kiev dip - amazing!

BloodandGlitter · 28/04/2026 21:29

Anything from the slow cooked range, especially the ribs! Or the char sui pork with a pack of bao buns.

SybilEsmeGytha · 28/04/2026 21:53

M&S chicken kiev
Ocado sourdough- all types are good
M & S valencia orange lollies
Giant Yorkshire puddings
Crosta mollica frozen pizzas and their flatbread for.making wraps

La boulongere part baked big baguette- half makes a substantial sandwich (try canned tuna, rose Harrisa paste with may o and red onion for something different)

Ocado basa fillets and salmon joint, also the long sliced smoked salmon
Ocado turkey thigh mince to make chicken kebabs

In general the quality of ocado meat and fish I find to be very good value much better than a budget supermarket and similar in price

fretaway · 28/04/2026 21:59

If stocking up on gyozas I get the Ajinomoto ones which are a Japanese brand. Big packet and far better than the itsu ones.

SpiceGhoul · 28/04/2026 22:00

I'm obsessed with the Mexican dip. I also love the £8 Stir fry deal- I always get the ramen veg and the itsu broth then whatever protein/noodles I fancy.

I agree that there quality of meat is much better than other supermarkets, it always has good sell by dates too.
