I read that they have backtracked and decided to sell it on as a product. I really should like it because I love anchovies, love salty things generally but just don't. I end up buying a pot every few years because I still think I ought to like it.

Nooo! Not when I’ve just spent ages learning how to make it! I’ve got so many Brownie Points from dp-who had gone into mourning……

I didn't realise they stopped selling it ? I'm sure I only bought a pot a few months ago. DH and I just don't eat it quickly enough, so the next time I go to use it, it has lovely green/furry growths over the top 🤢

What is your recipe OP?

I started with Xanthe Clay’s recipe (thank you, @oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends !) but I found it needed half as much again ginger and cinnamon. And I tried leaving out the salt because anchovies are so salty, but it really needs it. And I put in a bit of black pepper too. DP agreed that it was better than the original. I used lovage because I grow it, but I think you might have to be careful not to overdo the celery tops because they’re stronger. Good luck!
