Please suggest a banana cake recipe

that doesn't taste predominantly of bananas! Is that a thing? I have 3 manky bananas that need using but I made the usual banana bread a few days ago. I'd like to make another cake that'll use them up (preferably a healthy recipe, not too calorific, something that will freeze well). Is it even possible to have bananas as the base and not have them be the overriding flavour? If so please share your suggestions!

Google Nigel Slaters black banana cake. It has some chocolate chips in it and freezes incredibly well. It’s delish!!

What about banana ketchup. Ive never had it but am intrigued.

What about a hummingbird cake? The pineapple and spices over shadow the banana. Unfortunately I don’t have a recipe I can recommend.

Ooh I know this one!

Chocolate banana bread. It’s almost a pudding. We doubled the amount of banana in it to make it taste more banana-y (as per one of the comments) but you wouldn’t have to. It was very chocolatey but banana too - really soft and delicious. Would also have been great warm with custard or cream, but we just ate slices like a cake.

Chocolate and banana loaf cake, topped with banana chips

Chocolate & banana cake

This decadent chocolate and banana loaf cake is gorgeously moist from the fruit, whilst chocolate adds richness. Top with ganache and banana chips.

We also did these banana cookies (we were also getting a bit tired of banana bread)

v good too. But I think the chocolate banana cake edges it for something different.

Banana Cookies

Skip the bread and use your brown bananas for banana cookies! My recipes makes cookies with a soft, chewy texture and rich banana flavor.

I make this one but add cinnamon and ginger in it (and sometimes chocolate chips)
