Kofta kebabs. Very casual boozy dinner. What sides?

Will be having some friends round next weekend for a low key celebration. I'm planning to make some kofta kebabs on the BBQ. Will probably do some chicken ones too, it's a small group with no dietary requirements.

There will be flatbreads from our local Turkish restaurant and I'll make my special chilli sauce which contains white cabbage. I think I'll also do a kachumber style salad and make a garlic yoghurt sauce. I have a huge jar of those pickled peppers too. I'm thinking maybe a red cabbage salad but not sure as there's already a whole white cabbage in the chilli sauce?

What else should I serve? There will be a table and chairs but it won't seat everyone.

I'd maybe do some potato wedges or a bulgur wheat tabbouleh salad, or a couscous salad. Loads of nice olives and maybe some home made hummus. Sounds yum

I would do Fattoush.

Key to an amazing fattoush. Fabulous evoo and best tomatoes you can find ( in my opinion)

Definitely home made hummus, so much better than ready made. Plenty of lemon juice, proper fresh garlic, tahini, little bit of cumin, great EVO oil. I get best results by cooking dried chickpeas, otherwise apparently KTC cheapo tinned ones are v good. Add some water to thin it down a bit.

Also tzatziki (home made), aubergine dip / baba ghanoush (always bought!)
Lots of great breads, not just pitta.
Let us know where to collect the leftovers from 🤤

I also thought about hummus, but not sure you'd need anymore. Would you mind sharing your special chilli sauce recipe with cabbage in it? Is it a condiment or a side salad? It sounds very interesting 🤔

Thanks all. I'll definitely add hummus for others (I'm not a fan). I'll do fattoush for the salad option 🙂.
There are a couple of guests with very big appetites so potato wedges could be a good idea.

@7238SM it's not really my recipe if I'm honest but my friends always call it my special chilli sauce 😂. If you look up Meliz cooks cheats Ezme I follow that recipe. However I worked in a kebab shop as a teen and they made chilli sauce using raw white cabbage and roasted peppers so i add those and some lemon juice to the recipe.
