How long do you steam your white cabbage for a roast? Any tasty extras to add on at the end?

Butter!
Caraway seeds are good if you like them.

I don't steam it. I either boil it briefly, and then braise in lots of butter, finishing with a squeeze of lemon, or I slice it thinly and pan-fry it, till the edges start to char. (That method especially with Hispi cabbage).

I ended up steaming for 10 mins, it still had a bit of bite, then tossed with butter and black pepper. It was really nice and simple.

I’d always sautée with butter and garlic, good bit of salt and black pepper.
