Chocolate box or bar suggestions please

I’d like to buy my young adult DC and nephews a nice chocolate Easter gift each.

Rather than Easter eggs, which can be dubious quality and are overpriced for what they are, I’m thinking perhaps a box or a selection of something chocolatey - ideally without palm oil and not American (so not Cadbury or Hotel Chocolat etc). Also probably not Tony’s.

They are quite fussy - they like milk chocolate best but will eat dark too. Not loads of pralines and not truffles.

I’ve had Chococo and Barnabys bars before which both went down well, and would ideally like an independent provider like that. Must ship to SE England or be London based.

Suggestions welcomed, including any specific product recommendations.

I think eggs are much more fun personally. A bar or box doesn't feel very Eastery.

Neveranynamesleft · 19/03/2026 21:35

Easter and chocolate usually means eggs. Anything else would just be a bit meh really.

My son always loved a chocolate sandwich from Hotel Chocolate at Easter.

Laderach is delicious Swiss chocolate (though not cheap) and comes in all sorts of shapes and designs.

Lidl chocolate bunnies.

Bought a litter of them, put them in a hamper basket for my aunt, who loves Easter and goes all out, the young adult men in the house have already eaten them all and have requested more.

ETA no one has touched any of the eggs.

Booja booja?
Milka are PO free I think?
And they both do Easter products xx

Butlers. I think it’s an Irish brand. Waitrose stock them and they do Easter Eggs too. Gorgeous chocolate and I’ve tasted a few.

Pancakewaffle · 19/03/2026 23:37

Came on here to say Booja Booja too!

Lindt bunnies are delicious

Hotel chocolate all the way

TinyMouseTheatre · 20/03/2026 16:54

How old are they? I would have been disappointed when I was little if I had a bar instead of an egg.

Buscake · 20/03/2026 16:58

Montezumas are pretty delish but I do agree with other posters - just get an egg!

Definitely but from this shop. Small independent that only stocks products twice a week. Honestly the best indulgent and fun chocolate I have ever had.

Does Hotel Chocolat have Palm oil? I didn't think it did.

totk · 20/03/2026 17:13

I love Neuhaus but it's pretty expensive!

Young adults! And they’ve said expressly they don’t want eggs.

thanks for all the replies

Maybe not but it’s now US owned - Mars

Marabou. It is “normal” bar chocolate in Scandinavia. You can get it delivered from the Scandinavian Kitchen in London (or buy it there if you’re in town, obviously).

Great everyday chocolate. The closest I have found to the Cadbury’s Dairy Milk of the 1980/90s. No palm oil (though owned by an American company).

Lindt gold bunnies. The supermarket ones don’t come close to me!

hahabahbag · 21/03/2026 18:18

Lidl chocolate tastes better than the main stream brands, though I buy the 85% dark one

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 21/03/2026 18:20

I’ve seen Neuhaus being bigged up on here. I think they are London based or have London stores but I’ve never had it

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 21/03/2026 18:27

Fetcha chocolates are delicious and featured in last years Oscar’s goodie bags.

Fatso chocolate bars sold in a local deli and always a treat.
