Can I make a big beef & ale pie in a rectangle lasagne dish??

My pie dish is good for about 6 portions but we’ve got 8 coming on Sunday.

anything I need to be aware of if using rectangle dish??

And, yes, don’t worry, I will be having pastry on the top AND bottom

I make my steak pies in an ashet

meat and sausage in the dish with a puff pastry lid

And to clear up any confusion; I will be increasing recipe quantities to ensure it will feed 8-10 in the bigger dish rather than just the same amount of food in a bigger dish

I always put egg cups or my Blackbird pie funnels in a pie to support the pastry. Just habit I guess or not being able to make a pie without thinking of my granny.

I have quite a collection of them in various sizes but usually do two pies rather than one very big one in a roasting tin. There’s a lot of us when we sit down for a meal together.

My mum used to do an apple or rhubarb sponge in them as well. It was the food of the Gods and very happy days. ❤️

We have that tin!!! I'd put kidney in rather than sausages.

I know the pie was made a while ago but it was a cuboid not a rectangle.
