So trying to up my fibre and someone on here mentioned Psyllium husk so thought I would try it

my new fav breakfast is 2tbsp with milk and maple syrup - the texture is so weird but I love it! Am I the only one?

also like the texture of chia pudding

what weird textures do you like that might give me something different to try?

2 tablespoons of psyllium is a really large dose. Im surprised you haven't experienced bloating and diarrhoea with that amount. Did you build up really slowly to that? Optimum dosage is 1-2 teaspoons

Ground flaxseeds is maybe one to try

If you like the texture try it in hot squash. It's mental but brilliant.

I love the texture of things like milled flax or chia seeds when they’ve been soaked. Haven’t tried psyllium husk.

I also like tapioca 😄

Here’s another weird one: lightly toast two slices of bread, cover with thin slices of cheese and grill until the cheese has just melted, then quickly put a whole leaf of iceberg lettuce on top and slap the two slices together. It’s soft and crispy, dry and juicy, cool and warm, munchy and melty, all together.

@XiCi i have very low fibre in the rest of my diet so maybe that’s why it’s not an issue - I don’t have it every day either!

@Aparecium yes! A good crunchy lettuce really raises a lot of goo!

will try the other suggestions too!!

I couldn't get on with psyllium, too slimy. Will try again in juice at some point. Chia is great fun, I enjoy trying to burst all the little bubbles with my teeth. When I need a texture moment for sensory reasons, I mix prawn crackers and corn chips in a bowel and like the different types of crunch.
