Every so often I see them being mentioned everywhere, (marketing?) but are they any good? If you have a thermomix did you get rid of any other appliances? If you have one are they good for people beyond the main cook? Are there any good dupes? The price looks a major investment.

My friend is a rep for them. It’s a whole different way of cooking and one I personally don’t like. I also don’t like big machines on my counter..

I have a TM5 and use it most days - it’s incredibly easy once you get used to it and the in-built recipes really help to then figure out how to transfer other recipes. If I could justify it I would upgrade mine to a TM6 as it has far more functions. I never bothered but you can get a rep round to show you how to use it before committing, they will try to do a bit of a hard sell by all accounts but now there’s a new version you can pick up a TM6 on eBay for about half the price of a new one. There are some dupes, I think Lidl has one, but this is a seriously pro piece of kit - there’s a reason every top chef has one but it’s not for everyone.

I use mine everyday - time saving and easy to use.
drawback: my kids don’t know it is possible to cook without!! Like you can prepare pastry with your bare hands? 😂
i have kept all my other appliances but they are in the loft ready for when my kids move out
mu youngest has called dibs on my TM5 already for when I’ll die!!
