I'm making him a birthday cake and wanted to use the below recipe because it's less sweet and easier to make than swiss buttercream but it contains raw pasteurized egg whites unlike real swiss buttercream. I cant seem to find online whether or not he can eat it.

Easy Buttercream Frosting Recipe

The best easy buttercream frosting recipe! Light, fluffy, smooth and creamy! Not too sweet and so easy to make! Never buy frosting again!

Hi I would have thought so, unless allergic to eggs or immuno comprised for some reason?

Pasteurised means they have been treated (by heat) so that they will be fine. That is the purpose of pasteurisation.

so you should be good to go. Enjoy baking and I your little one loves their cake.

It’ll be absolutely fine. He’s two. He can eat anything.

It’s cracking icing. I love using it. So much nicer than buttercream. Just a bit of a fanny on making it, but absolutely worth it. And yes I’d feed it to a 2 year old to answer your original question.

I make the heated swiss meringue but if you are using pasteurised egg whites then no issue with this recipe for anyone.
