8 month old - weaning help!

My baby turned 8 months on the 7th.

He has now began to refuse to take his afternoon bottle and only wants food, so we are now on 3 bottles a day which tend to be around 6-7oz per bottle (sometimes hes fussy with his night one) and 3 meals a day, so breakfast (porridge/wheatabix/fruit), lunch (toast/eggs etc) & dinner (a home cooked meal and a yoghurt).

is this ok? Some of my friends kids are still taking 5 bottles a day but my baby just refuses it or drinks literally an oz or two

When my baby was the same age we were on 3 meals and 3 bottles a day.

He's now 10 months and we do 3 meals and a snack, and he probably has 2 bottles a day.
7am - breakfast - Weetabix/porridge/rice pudding
10am - bottle
12 - lunch - toast/eggs
3pm - snack - fruit/crackers/rice cake
6pm - dinner - whatever we are having
7pm bottle before bed.

So I think what you have is fine, especially if you are offering bottles and he turns it down. Food is obviously much more delicious and exciting!
