A good recipe for chocolate brownies made out of beans - with no bean taste

I had a black bean brownie today, normally I steer well clear of stuff like this but it did look nice and it was really really nice.

It was made with cacao, not sure on the difference between that and cocoa. I think it must have had coconut and honey in it, perhaps date paste or something, not sure.

There are tons of recipes online of course but I have also read in the past that these sort of brownies end up tasting of bean so I never bothered (I wanted to make some last year), but having had this one today I really was impressed

I wouldnt say it was like a brownie, more like a fudge, very dark and hardish, had to press down quite a lot with the fork to get through it.

Are you asking for a recipe? I got a very good black bean brownie recipe from Delicious website. Couldn't taste the beans, although it used an awful lot of cocoa powder. Very good for getting down children who need fibre.

Can you remember which one?

This may be the one @ManyATrueWordmeant - it does have a lot of cocoa in it. I’ve not heard of bean brownies before, sounds intersting,

Cacao is made from the raw, minimally processed bean; cocoa from fermented and roasted ones.

You are correct. https://www.deliciousmagazine.co.uk/recipes/black-bean-brownies/ gives you dense, dark brownies. A bit crumbly but still like.a brownie. More posh London deli than Betty Crocker if you get my meaning.

I've used a couple of different recipes for chocolate cake/brownies made with beans and none of them taste of beans when cooked. Licking the mixing bowl is no fun though!
