I really, really like ritz crackers and would like to find a healthier alternative. Any suggestions please?

Just enjoy the ritz its a cracker it's not going to kill you

bloodredfeaturewall · 03/02/2026 09:31

I would be more worried about the salt content...
tbh as long as you don't eat a whole pack every day it's fine.

Ryvita cracker bread if its the crunch you like. My current favourite snack with cream cheese and either cucumber or beetroot

Ohthatsabitshit · 04/02/2026 20:36

Pretty much any starchy veg/grain mixed with hard cheese and baked thin and flat will give you the same vibe.

You could cut thin slices of carrot.

Or just have a cracker.

bluejelly · 04/02/2026 21:38

Oatcakes?

KimTheresPeopleThatAreDying · 04/02/2026 21:42

Just eat the cracker. It’s fine.

RosieMilkJug · 04/02/2026 21:46

Ritz crackers are now full of palm oil and taste very greasy. OP I share your pain. Peter’s Yard have the crunch but not the cheese. I’m on the look out for a good dupe too.

Scorcchi crackers from Aldi are lovely. Found these pics on Instagram

I came on to recommend these too. They are very tasty.

Matzo, Finncrisp?
And as mentioned above by pp, oatcakes and ryveta.

soupyspoon · 04/02/2026 22:08

Just eat them

Coop do some nice little salt and pepper crackers though, nothing outrageous in them apart from the palm oil

puppyparent · 04/02/2026 22:12

I would suggest ryvita (or melba toast) with something savoury and protein-rich on top eg creamy cheese, hummus, taramasalata, pate, etc. And have some fruit on the side as a little palate cleanser! obviously it’s not going to be the same as munching a dozen ritz crackers, but it would be more nutritious and satisfying. And I think if you manage to avoid eating ritz crackers for a while you might find they don’t taste as good as you once thought.

No judgement from me by the way I love a ritz cracker too. And Goldfish :)

Handeyethingyowl · 04/02/2026 22:13

I love Ritz but there are many crackers I’d happily eat instead. I don’t know which are UPF or not but cheesy oatcakes are especially good.

I don’t think you should be too worried about a few Ritz though.

I will have a look for these, thanks.
Problem is how moreish I find ritz crackers. Once I open the box it will be gone in a couple of days so I only buy one box a week.
I am not obsessively non upf but a healthier choice would be better.

I was watching the advice on What Not to Eat about having nuts instead as a snack but as I can easily eat a whole packet and don’t find the tiny portion suggested at all filling this is of little use to me.
