Love Middle Eastern cuisine and I know Persiana is a very well loved recipe book. There are several thoughs (the normal one, the easy, eveyday etc). Which one would you recommend?

I have the original one and it is lovely!

Persiania Everyday is brilliant and so accessible in terms of ingredients. I love that she tells you which other dishes to serve it with and her Sloppy Saabs are on regular rotation in this house

I have recently acquired all three, and want to cook absolutely everything in Everyday. Easy is also excellent and is getting lots of use. I haven’t read the original one properly yet.

I've got "Everyday" & like it.
Suggesting what to serve it with is OK, but telling you it needs no accompaniment is too bossy - especially if it's a dish with few/no veg !

I haven't read any of her cookery books or recipes, but being married to an Iranian born wife for 35 years, means that I have tasted a lot of Persian in that time. From my experience, both here and when visiting Iran, some of the dishes, like the stews (Khoresht etc) could stand alone, but are nearly always served with a salad, pickles, or side dishes, such as Kashk Bademjun (Roasted aubergine, combined with eggs and garlic), Salad Olivieh, Dolmeh (stuffed vine leaves) etc. Have a look at the menu from Hafez restaurant in London, they have a great selection of starters/side dishes.
