Open pack of chicken

What would you do…
I got my online shopping this morning and when I squeezed a pack of chicken I could hear the air coming out of it. The pack was crushed underneath on one corner.
It had a week left on it, looked and smelt fine, so I chucked it in the slow cooker with curry sauce. It smells lovely after being in there all day.
I was guessing that the pack had been damaged in transit to me.
Now I’m wondering if I’m being really dumb and should chuck the lot?

Given the date left on it, and the fact is being slow cooked for ages, I'd totally eat it.

I wouldn't give it a second thought, enjoy your dinner!

I would use it without worrying. It looked and smelt fine - chicken has a way of letting you know when it’s not good.

Just be careful any escaped chicken juices have contaminated any unwrapped produce which will need thoroughly washing before consuming

True, when it's not fine, you KNOW when the packet is opened.

If you had bought a chicken from the butcher it wouldn't have had a plastic wrapping at all.

Thanks everyone!
We ate the chicken and it tasted lovely. Hopefully we’ll all be ok tomorrow 🤞🏻
