Eggless cookie dough recipe for shaped biscuits

Does anyone have a good recipe for a cookie dough that would work with cookie cutters (ie not too sticky) and that doesn’t need eggs!?

For my DDs party bags, I was planning to give a cookie cutter and some cookie dough mix - aim is for parents to just have to add butter or simple ingredients. The dough I tried was way too sticky - more for choc chip cookies than to cut shapes out but all the recipes I have for butter or shortbread type biscuits use egg (which won’t work as I want to give out smaller quantities and people can’t add “half an egg”!

If anyone has a recipe they think would work and you know is nice then I’d love to see it.

DP thinks we should give out ready made dough but not sure how to package that up nicely plus needs to be in fridge.

Traditional shortbread doesn't contain egg - just flour, butter and sugar in the following proportions by weight: 3 parts flour, 2 parts butter and 1 part sugar.

Thanks - is that crumbly or does it work with a cutter?

It works with a cutter.
