I was given this exotic pasta (more expensive than I'd ever buy myself), which I think is termed “mother-in-law’s tongue,” which would be odd, to say the least.
It’s the most gorgeous pasta I’ve ever seen: long thick wide ribbons with colored green, orange, and purplish stripes running lengthwise, with tiny scalloped edges running along the length. Obviously, there shouldn’t be any sauce to mask that, so I just sauteed slivered garlic with a handful of slivered ham. It was like eating an artwork. Unfortunately, there were problems, notably that all the ham ended up on the bottom, but still a good try.
