Trouble with my flapjacks..

Decided to have a bit of a baking day to use up some bits and pieces I had in my baking box. (I've been clearing out my cupboards.). I had a few glace cherries so thought I'd make some flapjacks.

The recipe I used is 120g oats, 60g light brown sugar and 60g melted butter. Mix together, add a decent squirt of honey or syrup, add the bits (in this case cherries but I also made a batch with raisins). Then put in a greased tin and bake until golden.

I did all that, then put them outside to cool.

I hoped/expected them to pop out but they were welded to the pot round the edges and squidgy in the middle. So now I have a bowl of flapjacks rather than the slices I wanted.

Any idea what went wrong and any tips for next time?

Line your baking tin with grease proof paper.
