Leftover Brie

InfiniteJester · 03/01/2026 13:50

Any ideas what I can make with leftover Brie? It tastes so bland and fartish to me, I can’t think how to cook with it. Seems the idea to bake is only for Camembert. Has anyone made anything nice with theirs?

Wrap it in puff pastry with some cranberry sauce or chutney. Egg wash. Bake. Lush!

Wonderknicks · 03/01/2026 13:53

I'm sorry. I don't understand the concept of "left over Brie"?
(Put it in a toasted sandwich with cranberry sauce).

You can bake it, very like Camembert. But seriously, what exactly is “leftover” Brie? Are you even a real Jester??

CoffeeBeansGalore · 03/01/2026 13:56

Put it in a quiche with bacon & cranberry.

mushroom and Brie pie

chuck it in cheese sauce

Leek and brie risotto.
Brie and cranberry sauce toastie or hot baguette
Cubes of brie on pasta with tomato sauce
Brie and bacon on crumpets

I’d probably make a pizza. Or if there’s only a little bit, mix it with other cheese to make a posh macaroni cheese.

Thank you all.

Hahaha yes, most unusual to have leftover cheese here. I catered for 8 of us but not many had space for cheese. Will try baking it then. For some reason I’m not keen on it “raw”, tastes too milky. Thanks everyone, great ideas!

I had mine sliced and grilled over streaky bacon on pitta bread (could do naan as well). Delicious but it was missing something like cranberry jam though.

Tartiflette. Bung in a dish with leftover cream cubed potatoes and cubed bacon. Salt and pepper. Bake in oven.

In a bagel or on toast smeared with honey

We are obsessed this week with bacon, brie and cranberry sandwiches on baguette. So much so we finished the left over brie and had to buy more

Seaside3 · 03/01/2026 15:54

Slice it, put nuts/parma ham in it and bake. Drizzle with hot honey when melted. Serve with bread, crackers, chipolatas, yorkshire puddings. (Yes really)
If you dont have nuts etc then use left over chutneys.

I made 3 batches of these over the festive season. Pecans and walnuts both work. I used puff pastry.
