now im not sure about starter and main yet…
DP wants oysters for starters, im undecided…

The friends we were going to have had flu since Christmas, so the party has moved here. I’m doing chicken jalfrezi, tarka dhal, cauliflower and butternut squash curry, Bombay potatoes, steamed basmati rice, naan, popadoms, mango chutney, raita, lime pickle. Guests are bringing puds.

The lamb from ottolenghi was a winner, the potato dauphinoise a good side dish. No-one seemed interested in my salads (beetroot ottolenghi and another one cabbage/carrots, my own recipe) though
i also did a confit garlic and goat curd toast as a starter by angela hartnett (BBC Good food) but that was very much underwhelming.. wont do it again…

We loved the lamb @tostaky . It went straight into our top 10 dinner party dishes!

Will have to give the lamb recipe a go! We love Ottolenghi, especially the burnt aubergine and feta recipe, and the chickpea confit.

Our 'raclette' went down a treat. Very sociable way of eating - and not all cheese! A lovely evening all in all, but I thin my champagne was off as I had such a headache the next day 😂

Happy New Year!
