I currently make two loaf cakes, a Nigella inspired Banana and Chocolate and a Prue Leith Date and Orange loaf cake.

Does anyone have any nice loaf cake recipes? Maybe a lemon drizzle.

Mary Berry’s earl grey tea loaf is lovely. The tea flavour is quite delicate. Delicious with heaps of butter spread on top.

I second that. Just Google it, you’ll find it. I’m also partial to yoghurt based loaf cake or a seed cake.

I've never made it but I'd like to make a tea loaf or bara brith type thing.

Unhelpful answer sorry

Lemon drizzle from Bbcgoodfood website. It’s fantastic and very simple to make
added: it’s lemon drizzle cake the first when you put lemon drizzle into search

I use this too. Delicious! Also regularly make BBC Good Food Date and Walnut loaf cake

Tana Ramsay's lemon drizzle is my go to never fail, occasionally I swap out the lemon for oranges or limes.

Bara Brith is SO easy. Soak 250g of dried fruit in 300ml hot tea until the tea cools. Beat in an egg and 125g sugar, then fold in 250g self-raising flour. Bake in a 1lb loaf tin for 45 mins at 180c

Following as I currently just make a chocolate and banana bread (bbc good food). And would love some other recipes!

A half quantity of this is great in a loaf tin and it freezes well

Bizarrely the link says lemon, but it actually is orange
I don't bother with the honey, but do sprinkle a bit of demerara sugar on the top before the nuts to give it a bit of crunch. Plus it's gluten free.

Orange and almond polenta cake recipe

Almonds and polenta give this easy loaf cake a wonderful texture. This is gluten-free baking at its best.

I’ve got a recipe somewhere I’ll try and post it. You can add walnuts or pecans to it. It’s in her Baking Bible apparently.
