"Veggies from scratch "?

What setting (e.g. Air fry, roast, bake?) Are you using? We often roast veg, but wouldn't do this with sprouts as we steam those.

we've found the best thing is to remember it's a smaller more economical cooker.

so things that are usually cooked on the hob (gravy, boiled potatoes) stay on the hob. Those that can usually go in the oven (meat, fish, veg like aubergine, courgettes, tomatoes ect) to roast, we do in the air fryer.

It's a small oven, so sprouts will not cook in it. Manufacturer's handbook is a good place to start.

What makes you think this? I cook sprouts in my airfryer all the time. Yummy.
Need longer than 15 minutes, though.

Sprouts are good in the air fryer, halved, bit of oil, balsamic vinegar. Add honey for the last few minutes.

It’s not a microwave, it’s an oven, so you can’t cook veg that you’d usually cook in water in it (eg sprouts).
you can roast potatos, parsnips etc and roast meat. It’s also great for heating things up.
I use “2/3 the temp for 2/3 the time” as a rule of thumb.

Everyone I very often put tin foil over meat or vegetables to roast when using oven..to keep things moist but uncover for last bit.

Can I do the same in the air fryer please?

Do you put them straight into the tray or in a container please?

I do sprouts in my ninja air fryer and they come out really tasty. I peel them and cut them in half, then toss them in a little olive oil. Cook them on 180 for 10 mins (? - I just shake them regularly and test them, they might take a little longer) They have a lovely roasted flavour and have a nice bite to them.

Just into the air fryer drawer.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/12/2025 15:33

The thing I use my air fryer for more than anything is tofu. So much easier than faffing around frying it.
