I can't find the recipe I used to use. It was a melt together the butter, sugar (could have been dark brown sugar?) and syrup (or was it treacle or a mix of both?) recipe that you then added to the spices and flour. It probably contained egg. You then just rolled balls of the dough and they spread to soft, round biscuits as they baked. They were dark brown and quite smooth looking.
I've spent more time looking than they took to make! I'll have seen the recipe somewhere around 20 years ago. Can anyone help please?
