Quality street chocolates

Most chocolate.

FanofLeaves · 17/12/2025 12:53

salt and vinegar crisps. Discos in particular used to make your eyes water. Barely more flavour than a rice cake now.

HansHolbein · 17/12/2025 12:54

I had a Cadbury’s chocolate from my husband’s advent calendar yesterday. It was gross. Slimey/oily consistency. It didn’t taste of anything!

I disagree. Had a packet yesterday, they were sour!!

popsthecat · 17/12/2025 12:55

mcdonalds McFlurrys - I assume they’ve taken a the sat fat and sugar out so now they taste exactly like that!

FanofLeaves · 17/12/2025 12:59

McDonald’s anything- I hate the fact that they make everything when you order it now so it’s not fast food anymore. You used to be able to walk in, ask for a cheeseburger and be out again in about 27 seconds! Plus as it was pre made and kept warm the cheese had actually melted and stuck it together, I unwrapped one the other day and it was so dry the bun came flying off.

You need Co-op Sea salt and Chardonnay vinegar crisps. They turn your face inside out.

Amazing, will give these a try.

Forgottenmyphone · 17/12/2025 13:55

Smarties - paler colours, less chocolatey centre, chalkier and I miss those cylindrical packets with the collectible lids

Wolmando · 17/12/2025 13:58

Most things because they keep changing the formulations to take out, sugar, salt and fat.

FanofLeaves · 17/12/2025 14:19

Vegetarian food because they keep taking the cheese out of so it appeals to vegans. Especially on restaurant menus. So annoying.

Horrorscope · 17/12/2025 14:24

Cadbury’s chocolate. Most of Tesco own brand food (there must be a factory somewhere selling food-grade ‘mush’ - and Tesco must be buying most of it).

KimonoQueen · 17/12/2025 17:18

Krackawheat.
Vile now

Redheadedstepchild · 18/12/2025 11:58

KFC. Waste of time.
Jelly babies. Lost their oomph.

Although bucking the trend, I think crumpets have improved. I distinctly remember most crumpets coming practically already pre-burnt on the bottom in the 1990's. Unless they were Warburtons.

Recipe now contains palm oil. I find Aldi chocolate, made to EU standards, vastly superior.

They had to create a special grade called "family chocolate" to accommodate the cheap British stuff. Mostly sugar and fat. It's on the bottom shelf. I buy it because real chocolate, especially high cocoa content, gives me migraines.

Tabitha500 · 18/12/2025 13:24

Twiglets! Definitely don’t taste how I remember them!

foxychox · 18/12/2025 14:19

Spaghetti hoops, nasty thin sauce now…

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 18/12/2025 14:25

Most branded confectionery, lots of the US brand owned items, those with sugar replaced by artificial sweeteners, supermarket meats filled with water, and most crisps that have no flavour compared to those of earlier decades! So much is poorer now.

UxmalFan · 18/12/2025 14:46

Everything.

CarlaH · 18/12/2025 14:55

Definitely twiglets. I seem to remember that they used to come in a box and were three times the length they are now. Now they are horrible burnt stubby little things.

Then you need to try these, they're excellent

Sorry, wrong post !

Jelly babies. Don’t know what Bassettes have done, but they’re not the same
