Candied figs from yesteryear

Child of the 70s here. My brother and family are coming to stay at Christmas and I wanted to get all the things he and I used to love as children at Christmas. We used to have the usual (Quality Street, Matchmakers, Turkish Delight, Cherry Liqueurs, box of those Orange and Lemon Slices, After Eights, Rose and Violet Creams). But we also used to have a box of sort of fig slices covered in sugar. Not exactly slices of figs, more reconstituted fig shapes. A bit like fruit jellies. Does anyone know what I mean and if you can still get them?

Batger’s Chinese figs: https://adonis.blue/2017/08/17/in-memoriam-batgers-chinese-figs/

They’re no longer available and I haven’t managed to find a similar product 🥺

Yes that's it!! Chinese figs. Of course. Thank you! Such a shame they are obsolete though. Madness! 😢

Ah I mourn the loss of these every Christmas and I’ve never come across anyone else that remembers them. We used to buy them from a little shop in our village every Christmas and they remind me of my mum 🥺

Omg I was only thinking about these yesterday and googled them to find they were discontinued! How bizarre. No one else I know have ever had them. My aunt used to send a box down to my nan every Christmas.
