Any Thermomix users out there?

I’m thinking getting a Thermomix, going to speak to an advisor today. Any advice? Can you negotiate on price/ask for anything to be included?

Any tips on when I have it? Best things to make/tricks to learn?

thanks

No but I’m considering the lidl version which I’ve got in reserve - have to decide by the weekend. It’s £299.

So I’m interested in responses too.

I have a TM5 and I love it, but would recommend going for one of the newer versions as they have more functions. Pretty sure there's no negotiation re price as it's set by the manufacturer, but I know some friends of mine who got a secondhand TM6 on eBay which could be an option.

When you buy one you should sign up for their in-built recipe collection (Cookidoo) which will basically walk you through every step of a recipe. Once you get a bit more familiar with it then you sort of figure out how to adapt your own recipes for them. I also sign up to a couple of dedicated Thermomix recipe blogs too.

I use mine most days now - it's basically replaced most of my old appliances, and if I had the TM6 it would really be the only thing I would use a lot of the time.

Friend Paid deposit of about £300 and then pays the rest off per month for 12 months.

Thanks everyone! Lidl one tempting, I assume it’s the access to all the recipes and the link up between the app that is the benefit of the thermomix, but I don’t know what the Lidl one offers.

Lidl one has the online recipes I believe - large touch screen for following instructions and applying settings.

From what I’ve read it doesn’t have quite as many functions as the thermomix.

I can’t justify the cost of TM, but my hope is to get my teens enthusiastic about making a wide range without too much mess or blowing up the kitchen!

I have a TM6 and I use it every single day. I debated over getting one for about 2 years, then decided I could have been making use of it all that time I’d been deliberating.

AI is good for giving a rough and ready comparison. I won’t copy it here as I hate reading screes of chat GPT on threads.
