Kombucha one.

What shall I do with it?

In the short term I mean!

I can’t start brewing it for a few days

it’s like having a new baby 😀

Have a look at this link to create a Scoby Hotel for it. We bought our Scoby and had to do all the starter tea stuff from scratch, but if a friend gave you it and it’s already in some tea then you may already have enough of a hotel.

Meantime you’ll need bottles….either order bottles designed for Kombucha or other drinks that ferment in storage to keep your brewed Kombucha in (generally you can’t buy suitable bottles in UK supermarkets or ordinary cook shops) or you can re-use glass bottles that have a clipped closure….ours used to contain Lorina Lemonade. The decorative bottles often sold in supermarkets aren’t strong enough for the pressure that Kombucha generates.

Homemade Kombucha is absolutely delicious. We find blueberry and lemon zest make an especially tasty flavour, ginger and lemon is great too. Happy brewing!

Argh it’s been in the fridge for around 20 hrs. Is that an issue? I’ve taken it out to see if it will wake up
