Not very exciting I know but I’m really missing a lovely deep green savoy with actual flavour. Every one I buy currently is yellow, apart from a few outer greener leaves and tastes of very little - I’m presuming there’s a reason for this, weather, depleted nutrients in soil? Anybody else noticed this?

Not sure, but I thought they were at their best after Xmas?

i.e. after they've had a lot of frost.

No idea sorry. I haven’t even seen them in the shops here yet.

Love Riverford but just can’t afford it these days.

I didn’t realise that it was early in the season, I’ve always thought of them as an autumn veg. I wonder if the ones I’m buying from Tesco have been hanging around the warehouse for months, would certainly explain the colour! I’ll lay off buying for a few weeks

Thanks all!

Yes, I think the ones we're getting now are early ones. Sort of like "baby" savoy! They're also smaller as a result. I quite like them like this myself, but I think you'll get closer to what you're thinking of later in the season.
