Best items to order from a Chinese takeaway…

We are ordering tomorrow night… but it got me thinking… what do you all think are the best items to order? It’s gotta be chicken satay, prawn toast and chilli shredded beef for me 🤤

Salt and pepper ribs, prawn toast and Singapore vermicelli is my favourite combination.

Definitely prawn toast, rest depends on Chinese a little eg at my local we always order pancake roll which is lovely and sweet and sour prawn balls which are fab as part of our family order . The Chinese near my Dads dies a great beef with black bean sauce so we always include that in our order.

Oh I love it all, we usually get a combination of a few of these, not all at once unfortunately 😅. Chicken and sweetcorn soup, Smoked chicken, crispy duck pancakes, Singapore chow mein, capital spare ribs, kung pao chicken, lemon chicken, crispy chilli beef, beef with mushroom. Free prawn crackers and mini spring rolls. It's so expensive here now though so we very rarely have one so I'm very jealous 😂

I just had a chicken chow mein last night dh had a fried rice. We usually order a mixed starter which has satay ribs and dim sum

Mmmm, crispy duck pancakes - it’s been a while since I had those! Lemon chicken is also lovely, but I tend to get chicken in black bean sauce which is my fav.

What is chicken foo yung?

I love duck dishes - had duck in plum sauce fairly recently but it had pineapple in it which I wasn’t expecting.

Ours does an amazing honey chilli chicken and we also like the sweet and sour king prawn balls or a chicken and cashew in yellow bean sauce. Whatever we’re ordering though there is always a bag of prawn crackers

Foo Yung is like an Omelette

I’m stuck in a 70s time warp & always get sweet & sour: chicken, or pork, or prawn balls. A colleague introduced me to mixed vegetables with satay sauce as she’s vegetarian & we had to share a dish when we ordered from work. That varies in quality though, depending where you order from.

Omg I'm so jealous. One of the things i miss the most from home is a British Chinese.

Prawn toast, chicken curry & chips (but not if it’s a Chinese chippy).

My local also does the best seasonal mixed veg in ginger and garlic. DH takes the mick because it’s always the same veg all year round.

@PeonyPatch I'm near Seattle. Lots of Chinese food but it just doesn't hit the same. Can't get prawn crackers, Chinese chips, that lovely curry you get in British Chinese takeaway.

Nooo way, that’s such a shame. Do they offer different things tho? Can’t beat a Chinese takeaway!
