Help! First time brownies!

I'm an absolute novice baker, I thought I'd start with brownies... got the Becky Excell recipe for gluten free ones... it says 250 g chocolate, 250g butter, four eggs, great, I'm measuring this out...

And blimey! This seems like an awful lot of food, and is supposed to fit in a 9"/23cm square tin?! Is this right? Other recipes online all seem to deal in similar quantities, but it just seems so... much...

😬

Asking for advice now while I can still put half back in the packets...

I would expect that to make about 20 small squares so I guess it depends how many you want to make…

Thank you. Ideally I'd make 10 and see how I got on, but then I wouldn't know what size tin to use...

Oh hello - I see I'd got the tray size wrong - that'll teach me to read more carefully... 😊

Brownies are all about the vast amount of butter and sugar. Remember they don't really rise that much. Not like making a sponge anyway.
