Mixed Peel

Is anyone else finding it impossible to get mixed peel at the moment?

Ocado has been out of stock for weeks, I went to the big Sainsbury’s in Brighton yesterday- no stock at all. Waitrose had some online yesterday but are today out of stock - what is going on?

Mixed peel is the spawn of Satan.

Funnily enough I couldn't find any a few months ago, so think it's been a problem for a while. Seems like you can get it from here but doubt you want a whole kilo of the stuff:

It is supermarkets and their 'just in tìme' supply chain. If you don't buy your mixed peel /currants / birthday cards at the time they think you should buy them they won't be available for another nine months. Look elsewhere - health food shops might have?

I got some from Tesco home delivery last week

I tried them this morning - out of stock now

Thus is peak time for mixed peel how can everyone have got their stocks so wrong!

If this is for Christmas baking I just buy a big bag of mixed dried fruit which includes mixed peel.

Wilton Wholefoods definitely do smaller packs (have a part one in the cupboard!) as well though not sure what delivery charges are like.

Our Tesco had some last week.
