Nigerian suet pudding thing on Masterchef last night

One of the contestants did a small suet pudding with meat in a small ramekin last night and Im sure she said it was Nigerian, beef and suet I think from memory

I cant find what it would be from googling. It was when she did the street food bit, did anyone see it and is anyone any the wiser

I would like to try it.

I didn’t want but I wonder if it a variation on Nigerian ‘suya’ (delicious grilled and spiced meat) or traditional beef stew?

She did suya, which was grilled beef, but she did a small suet pudding, not with a crust, in a ramekin, it came out looking like a paste or pate really, very smooth. JT said it was like haggis, which she had cooked in the previous round

Nigerian food is delicious! Moi moi is excellent with smoked fish in it, and suya is amazing. Chicken pepper soup (which blows your head off) will see off any cold or illness.

Moi moi is my favourite Nigerian dish of all time! We have fish in ours and a boiled egg. Served with jollof rice. It’s chef’s kiss delicious!

I fancy doing a fish version yes.

Suya is more like a skewered or broken up beef barbecue or grilled

Moin moin or moi moi is like a pastry with fish in it. Both great.

Party jollof, smoked turkey and suya - heavenly.

Obviously the best and most traditional suya is made with grass cutter, but beef will do at a push. Love jollof rice too. And groundnut stew.
