Help me pick a KitchenAid color

After much debating, DH has agreed to gift me a KA for Xmas + anniversary. I say much debating because I wasn’t sure it was worth spending money one one as I love cooking but don’t bake all the time.
Anyway, now I know it’s in the cards, I need to quickly pick a color as we have to get it with the Black Friday sale.
My favourite are:

  • cream/almond
  • pistachio
  • red
My kitchen is white but will not live here forever so I am thinking the safest (and maybe most boring?) option would be best, i.e. white? I do love the look of the colorful ones too though, they are such fun. What would you pick?

Pistachio!

Cream if you want a retro feel.
Red - to me - is outdated (probably because my first one was red, about 25+ years ago.)

RowOfRunners · 18/11/2025 18:25

I the white ones can look a bit clinical But the almond/ cream ones are gorgeous and will tie in with anything.

I’ve had mine for over 20 years and I chose an accent colour that I loved at the time. Trust me - taste changes. Stick with a neutral.

Timeforabitofpeace · 18/11/2025 18:27

Almond

PeonyBulb · 18/11/2025 18:30

The black ones are £299 in Lidl at the moment if that helps

Nigellastwinklylights · 18/11/2025 18:30

I have the red one and still love it. I don’t think it has dated and it reminds me of Nigella and her lovely Christmassy home.
The almond is a good neutral, but a little boring and would look a bit bland in a white kitchen.
The white one is very boring and as pp says, quite clinical.
Not sure about the pistachio one. I think that would date.
How about dark green? QVC have a good deal on atm.

Pistachio!

TappyGilmore · 18/11/2025 18:35

I love pistachio.

I like almond too but not sure if that would work in a white kitchen? I have a white kitchen too and it definitely wouldn’t work.

Not a fan of red at all.

Dartmoorcheffy · 18/11/2025 18:37

Pistachio. Red looks very dated now.

pastaandpesto · 18/11/2025 18:47

If you want to stick with neutral without going with the white, the milkshake colour looks like it would go better with a white kitchen than the almond I think? Or am I imagining it? Hard to be sure from the online photos.

Soontobe60 · 18/11/2025 18:50

Are you buying him a vacuum cleaner for his Christmas / anniversary present?
I have just bought myself a new food processor, DH will be buying me a gold pendant for my Christmas present.

RandomUsernameHere · 18/11/2025 18:52

Another vote for pistachio!

The milkshake is lovely. A great modern neutral. I have the mini chopper in almond and it really is very cream. The milkshake would be a good compromise.

I don't understand this comment. I am the one who has asked him for this specific gift as I have been agonising over a KitchenAid for years and can never justify spending that much money on it. It wasn't his idea if you are insinuating that he is an old fashioned man that wants his DW slaving in the kitchen for him?
Yes he also buys me jewellery and yes he cooks too and he'll use the KA too.
What an unnecessary comment!?

Yes it is. I had put it in the same category as the almond/cream but they are quite different I guess.

Thanks for sharing, a very interesting color but not my cup of tea, prefer the light or bright ones!

Ohh this never came up in my search! You see, I really hate the black one though and I think given it's still expensive, I might as well get the one I truly love as I hope it will last me for decades!

olderandnonthewiser · 18/11/2025 19:15

i went for almond because should you ever want to buy other KA appliances then you can get them in Almond too. I love the colours but Almond does go with most kitchens. Mines on its 3rd kitchen and has looked fab in all of them.

Bakedbeansandtoast · 18/11/2025 19:18

I've had my pistachio for 10 years and still love it and don't regret the colour one bit!

KoreanBeauty · 18/11/2025 19:36

I think it will be almond or pistacchio… I also adore the light yellow but it seems pricier

landlordhell · 18/11/2025 19:40

Go with the one you love the most, don’t play it safe. A pop of colour in any kitchen looks good, it doesn’t have to match. I have a dark grey kitchen and o would go for orange if they do that as the contrast is what I love.

Agreed. My only doubt is whether we will have a green kitche in our next home (as I do love it as a color for cabinets) and the pistachio might not look great against it. But I do love it…

But you decide what kitchen you choose so you can choose pale pink cabinets that will look great with pistachio!
