Parents on both sides in their 80s , getting harder to buy for. Thinking about food hampers this year- any recommends? Not really drinkers although will have the odd gin- no dietary restrictions . Budget about £60ish?

I make up a hamper for my grandmother (92) as I can get a lot more for my money doing the shopping myself. The Works sell baskets/cellophane wrap.

I normally choose a hamper from M&S and then shop the contents myself.

I bought a snack-y one from here a couple of years ago for my parents, they really liked it:

But agree with PP, pre-made hampers are expensive so you could make your own (but no cellophane! Use something more environmentally friendly).

Aldi have hamper baskets in at the moment

They also have a big range of finest stuff too at the moment - which looks nice, but you might want something fancier like M&S or something. One year I did one for my in laws and went to a local farm shop for goodies x

The Cornish Company do a lovely afternoon tea hamper, Christmas hampers and pasty hampers.

I like buying from here

I choose a few bits and bobs - brack is a must as are the ginger biscuits, and the tea is mighty good as well, then add other bits from other places - we have a great Christmas pud made locally and some great jam and cheeses

Unless you need to order it for delivery, I'd make it up myself! You could include non-foody things too if wanted:

-medjool dates on their own or with a stuffing
-fruit jellies
-jelly bellies
-bottle of port or their tipple
-glace fruit. Last year I dipped them in chocolate and gave them on a serving dish thing for MIL who loves them
-Glace marrons
-Bacon jam? Sainsburys used to sell it
-Chutney

Thank you for all the ideas- I need delivered hampers unfortunately. Just seen the Cornish company do a cream tea and gin which covers all bases!
